First method: Reset your printer

  • Make sure that your Photosmart HP Printer is switched on and disconnect the USB cable from the back of the printer.

  • Now, open the front panel of the machine and withdraw the ink cartridge from it.

  • Shut off the cover and wait until you see an on-screen message that reads “Insert Ink Cartridges”.

  • Now, remove the power cable from the back of it.

  • Wait for a minute to pass and then connect the power cord to your printer.

  • Press the UP and Down arrows on the console to reach to Preferences option. If it is not available then select Reset All Menu Settings option or hit Tools followed by Restore factory defaults.

  • Now, select Restore Defaults option and hit the OK button.
